Wanted: 2019 BoSLC Nominations
It’s time to let your voice be heard! Show your support for your favorite restaurants, shops, and other local businesses in the Salt Lake City area by nominating them for the 2019 Best of SLC™!
The Best of SLC™ awards are unique because they are more than a simple popularity contest. In order to find out which businesses and attractions are truly great, winners will be chosen by a combination of online votes, reviews, and ratings.
Places and companies will only be competing against one another in their respective categories. To make sure we are comparing apples to apples, there are dozens of categories across nine groups:
- Auto
- Dining
- Entertainment
- Fitness + Outdoors
- Health + Fitness
- Home
- Legal + Finance
- Services
- Shopping
How It Works
Unlike any other best of contest, the BoSLC winners are determined through three phases of selection.
Phase 1 – Nominations
Open to Salt Lake County residents, nominations will be held online at www.BestofSLC.com from January 24-February 8, 2019. The 10 businesses or attractions with the most nominations in each category will move on to the voting phase.
Users that nominate ten or more businesses will be entered into our $500 Amazon Giveaway with 5 chances to win!
Phase 2 – Voting
Similar to how the nominations worked, voting will take place on our website. Voting will be open to local residents from March 11th – March 29th, 2019. Users will be able to cast their vote once for each category, choosing the best from those nominated by the public. The top three vote-getters in their respective categories move on as finalists and will be announced in early April.
Phase 3 – Reviews
In addition to counting votes, we also consider your online reviews and overall rating from the previous 12 months on Google, Facebook, and Yelp. You can find out more information about scoring on our How It Works page, but basically, the higher your rating and the more 5-star reviews you have, the better your chances of winning.
Winners will be announced at the Best of SLC™ Awards Banquet in early May. We recommend staying up-to-date with Best of SLC™ announcements by signing up for notifications. We’ll never share your email address and you’ll only receive relevant BoSLC news.
